Here people like to live in groups and give themselves room all around to express themselves. Rambling is an important part of this large rural region with its 1,600 bell-towers. From the copses of the Boulonnais to the Artois Plateau and the Cambresis, walkers are everywhere; on rope bridges or along the hillsides and up to the slag heaps where kites pirouette.
A feeling of elsewhere, or at least of the unexpected, which you can also find in the inhabited and traditionally farmed marshes, which surprisingly give the impression of an Asian landscape.
