Located beside the Parc de la Villette which is the largest green space in Paris (55ha), the Cite des Sciences is one of the most popular attractions in Paris.
The Cité presents science and technology in an exciting and dynamic way, with 20,000 square meters of interactive exhibitions focusing on space, innovation, the environment and much more.
This is where you can pilot an aircraft, discover the ocean depths, grapple with optical illusions, explore a real submarine or watch the creation of the universe.
Youngsters will make straight for the Cité des Enfants, a special area where 2-12 year-olds can take part in a host of fun activities, from observing ants to making a TV show.
Don’t miss our shows:
-The Planetarium: truly stunning shows featuring computer-generated images. Travel from planet to planet, explore the solar system, and see how Earth, the stars and the universe were formed.
-The Louis-Lumière cinema (3D films): documentary films in fantastic 3D – a whole new dimension
-The Géode (giant-screen cinema): would you like to see a breathtaking show? Then you should head for the Géode, where you can see a stunning Imax® or 3D film on a 1,000-square-metre screen. Once you've settled down in the reclining seats, you can explore the ocean depths, fly over the highest Alpine peaks, swim with dolphins and whales, or experience Van Gogh's paintings in a totally new way. A high point of any visit.
-The Cinaxe (moving cinema): cinema with an extra dimension. Here you can see a sensational film in a cinema that actually moves with the action. Simulation and 3D – a unique experience!

Ballestar Glactica, Close encounters of the third kind, Brazil, Robocop, E.T, Stargate Who hasn't thrilled to these cult films? Science and fiction has invaded our cinema screens as well as our literature, comic books and video games.
And now it has invaded the Cité! This exhibition features iconic objects used in movies, rare sci-fi books, virtual-reality games, an immersive show and scenes from films, taking visitors to a frontier, where science and science-fiction meet...
-“Oceans and climate change” April 2011 to June 201
With over 70% of the earth’s surface covered by water, oceans play a crucial role in regulating our climate.This exhibition makes use of spectacular interactive displays to explain the close link between oceans and climate-one that threatens the quilibrium of the planet.
All exhibitions are presented in English.
Universcience: since 1 january 2010,the Cite des sciences and the Palais de la decouverte have joined forces to create a new dynamic enterprise showcasing science and technology at both sites
