As Beautiful to Look at as they are Good to Taste
As you go up the Loire, discover the wines of Anjou and Saumur. This is the most widespread vineyard in Val du Loire, with 20,000 perfectly temperate hectares. This patchwork of lands offers great diversity. Altogether there are more than 28 appellations, among which are some exceptional products: Layon on the upper hills, Savennières on the banks of the Loire, Anjou towards the south of the department and Saumur brut.
The Cellars and their Treasures
Unusual Vaults: Buried in the white stone galleries of the cave-dwellers’ caves, or drawn into the heights of a ‘moulin-cavier’ (a mill built on top of cave), not all Val de Loire wines age in the same conditions. Novice or seasoned expert, learn about the wine-making process and take advantage of your stay in the Pays de la Loire to discover these unusual cellars, and fully appreciate the treasures they hold.
