Seawater
Seawater is rich in living matter and concentrates many mineral salts and trace elements beneficial to the human body. Phytoplankton and zooplankton present in large quantities possess the specific ability to synthesize antibiotic and anti-viral substances.
Water is pumped directly from the sea and can be stored for a maximum of 24 hours to retain all its benefits. The pumping stations are located to guarantee water quality satisfying the standards imposed by the French Ministry of Health.
The seawater is then heated to over 34°C, since it is above this temperature that the ions present in the water can penetrate the human body.
Seaweed
Seaweed has the ability to concentrate a wide range of minerals and trace elements.
The latter are vital for the synthesis of enzymes, vitamins and hormones and the working of human cells.
The seaweed varieties used in thalassotherapy are harvested in Brittany. Primarily brown seaweeds, found on the sea bed are used.
After being washed and rinsed they are processed and preserved to retain all their active ingredients.
