Natural Skating Rinks in Franche-Comté The regions large lakes become remarkable skating rinks in winter. The principal sites are the lake Saint-Point in Doubs, the lake of Russet-red or that of Combe. Crossed by Doubs, the Lake Saint-Point, is located at am altitude of 900m and 7km long.
In winter, it freezes and becomes a beautiful rink. Lake Russet-red freezes offering 90 hectares of skate area, on the foot of the Risoux forest. Those who don’t skate can explore the snow-covered landscape with complete freedom. A few kilometres from the village of Lamoura, in the heart of the High-Jura, Lake Combe is the highest natural skating rink in Jura at an altitude of 1,152m.
